Sooner or later everything gets an app! Once upon a time homeopathy was associated with musty old books and even mustier old practioners...ok so maybe I'm exaggerating but homeopathy is finally coming into the light of the screen. Practioners have benefited from homeopathic software for many years now. Collegues catch up on Skype and webinars are a feature of our work. Bring it on I say! If you browse my website you'll see that I offer homeopathic consultations over Skype. Not every town has a homeopath. Like everything, the more rural you go the less services are offered. The internet has gratefully lessened the gap allowing more knowledge to flow more easily. It's not perfect but it's getting better all the time. I totally understand that you can't always access a homeopath and why would you for the odd bump and graze? The fact is, I don't want you too! Save your money! We all know how to use Panadol and Neurofen for minor illness and injury. Let's get to know how to use homeopathy just as well! I'm always very happy to give some guidance for this but for me the true power of homeopathy is seen when people have the knowledge to use it themselves in their everyday lives. By managing the symptoms of disease homeopaths avoid infections, avoid a cold becoming pneumonia and a graze becoming a doctor visit. They use it for their everyday symptoms. I want to see you at my clinic for the more serious things. Problems that maybe you've had for years, things you simply can't nut out yourselves, things that you've been to the GP about and they can't do anything more for you...come see me when you're stuck! ![]() I recently shared a link to a homeopathic app on Facebook. I'm the first to admit I love books. I love the smell, the crack of he spine as they open, the flutter of the pages as I flick through...even the weight of it in my hand. BUT you cannot beat an app for convenience. So many people carry their phone with them it makes perfect sense to have a simple home prescribing app on hand (and at least a basic homeopathic kit). My favourite app for home prescribing is the first on the list below. It's pretty similar to how I prescribe for those everyday ailments. Obviously not exactly because I'm a human but it's a great guide. Download it. Play with it. Read about the remedies. Get comfortable with homeopath and make it your friend. I will very clearly say that the apps I'm recommending here are for simple issues only. They are specifically for acute cases. Think of self limiting conditions like a cold. A cold will get better sooner or later but homeopathics may assist in managing the symptoms and may shorten the duration. Obviously the sooner you get better and the less severe your symptoms the less likely you are to develop more serious complications. Make sense? Yep I think so too. I've stuck to the freebies here which is largely because that's what there was apart from a couple. There is heaps more! These came from the android store so I wouldn't be surprised if there is more again on the apple store. HOMEOPATHY by surface Impression available android and iPhone This is the best I've seen and the closest to how I practice with acute conditions. It was released by the Homeopathy Works for Me group. Check them out! Some great reading awaits you there! HOMEOPATHIC REPERTORIUM by Soft Solutions This is a lot more complicated and I'm not convinced it's a good one for the home prescriber. Have a look and a play but it asks a lot of questions, there's no potency suggestions that I can see and it really needs a good understanding of how a homeopath comes to remedy to use it. HOMEOPATHIC TIPS CLINICAL LITE by Mind Technologies Private Ltd This isn't great...for instance if you look under cough there is only 3 remedies listed and not the best at that. The clinical tips are sweet if you're practioner but not so necessary if you are a home prescriber. HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT AND MED by Walldoor It's ok. Lots of info but perhaps a bit complicated. There's a lot of ailments listed that you should really see a homeopath for not be home prescribing for. Some we don't see in this country. The potencies used are exceptionally low and not ones I would use. In fact I think you'd be hard pressed to get the potencies from your local homeopath. But the remedy suggestions seem good and there is a bit of added info on the diseases. But be careful with those!! In an emergency always seek medical assistance. HOMEOPATHY FOR DOGS by 42 South This is a good one for animals! The potencies they suggest are generally lower than I would use but it's a good start. The designer has some other homeopathic apps that look good too. Not all are free. Disclaimer: Homeopathy is a traditional medicine. The TGA considers Homeopathy a low risk medicine.
