Hi and Welcome

Nutritionist, homeopath, mother to 4, lover of coffee, lover of dogs and an eternal student!

Hello! I'm Sarah Dobbs, the owner and natural health practitioner at Simply Healing. Where to start? My interest in natural therapies started when my grandma gave me a Dorothy Hall herbal book when I was nine, maybe 10rs old. She's Australian herbal royalty, if you don't know the name. I loved the herb gardens in the hinterland of the Sunshine coast where I lived and daydreamed about having a garden just like that as the lavender wafted into my nose.

It turns out I'm not much of a gardener! But that hasn't stopped me! I dabbled in this and that over the years. I did a Bachelor's in Literature and drama, taught scuba diving and generally bummed around the world, constantly seeking natural remedies wherever I went. Until one fateful day after we had just moved to Canberra, where even summer felt cold to our northern Australian blood, we stumbled across an amazing Aladdin's cave of homeopathic, herbal, and whatever you can think of healing.

We had three kids at the time (now four), all of whom were sick, as was I. We booked a homeopathic appointment, and by the next day were feeling well. SOLD! I signed up for the first aid course and more studies, then qualified as a Homeopath in 2015. I added Bowen therapy in 2016 and completed my nutritional studies in 2018. I'm still studying and upgrading all of it to a Bachelor of Health Science (naturopathy) because you can never know enough!

I am a fierce advocate for women looking after themselves.

We get the raw end of the health deal so often. We spend our lives looking after others while putting ourselves last on the to-do list. I guess it's no surprise that women's hormonal health is a specialty area. Natural therapies are incredible here! Women can get their lives back. You can reclaim your energy, lighten your periods, and not feel like a lioness about to eat her cubs pre-menstrually...I do not believe, for a second, that being a woman was meant to be complicated.

The other area I am passionate about, and do a lot of work in, is mental health. Not only is this a personal concern, but I find it fascinating and rewarding from a professional point of view. In my opinion, the benefits of natural therapies are grossly underestimated in this area. Our mental health system is overwhelmed, drugs are handed out left, right, and centre and those with mental health issues are left with no long-term sustainable options. Natural therapies can be used in conjunction with conventional medicine to enormous benefit. I believe in looking at the root cause!

Hopefully, that's let you in on a few bits about me! The bottom line is I want to see you doing so well that you don't need me anymore!

I look forward to seeing you online or in the clinic soon!

xx Sarah
