It takes approximately 5 hours for insulin levels to return to baseline after a meal. Let them! Skip the constant grazing and let your body use the fuel it already has. This isn’t about starving; it’s about creating consistency and regulation, which your nervous system interprets as safety. Constant snacking keeps insulin pumping and drives a glucose-greedy brain.
3. Prioritise Deep Sleep

It also stops the intense energy cravings that lead to blood sugar spikes the next day. If sleep is elusive right now, address the root cause rather than relying on a quick-fix bandaid.

Go for a simple walk after eating to blunt post-meal blood sugar spikes. That old-fashioned Italian habit of a stroll after dinner (la passeggiata) is sheer genius. No changing into gym clothes or putting runners on required, just a relaxed 10-minute walk.
